Lighthouses of Digby County

Digby County Lighthouses? Explore Them Here.

Lighthouses epitomize Nova Scotia, iconic symbols of our rugged coastline and maritime history. There are 150 Nova Scotia lighthouses, among them Peggy’s Cove Lighthouse, an iconic landmark that travelers the world over associate with this province. People love to visit and photograph them, marvel at them, climb them and learn more about them.

There are many beautiful Digby County lighthouses, all within a scenic drive of Bayside. Most are very accessible, offer panoramic ocean views and make interesting day trips for visitors to the area. There are lighthouses on Brier and Long Islands (a short ferry ride into the Bay of Fundy) and at Point Prim (near Digby). There is a lighthouse at nearby Annapolis Royal and at Belliveau Cove on the Acadian Shore. And the Gilbert’s Cove Lighthouse just down the road from Bayside offers a tea room and craft shop during the summer season – the homemade muffins are amazing!
